Gresham or Gratian?

Which do you prefer if you had to pick one and why?

Gratian. I slightly prefer the sound and Gresham is too much of a place name. I've been through Gresham OR many times since it's on the outskirts of Portland OR on the way to Mt. Hood.

I've heard Gresham is kind of the seedy area of Portland, is that true?

I think there is a seedy part of Gresham but not the whole city. I mean all of Portland is fairly nice but on the edge of Portland and part of Gresham there are areas that are less nice and part of that area is right by the highway. I haven't been there but I hear that downtown Gresham is super cute and they have a nice farmer's market.

Definitely Gratian because it has an interesting history behind it. As far as I know, Gresham hasn't.

Btw, do you pronounce both names similarly? At first glance I'd pronounce Gratian as grah-tsee-AHN or maybe grah-tee-AHN.

Yes they are pronounced similarly.

Gratian = "GRAY-shen"
Gresham = "GREH-shem"

I dislike random lnfns, and Gratian was an interesting emperor.

I don't like the sound of either name, but the meaning of Gratian is very nice. But I think if I had to pick one, it'd be Gresham, because the sound is slightly less unappealing...and the meaning isn't terrible either.
