[Opinions] Lancelot
Do you think Lancelot is a usable name nowadays?"You're born, you know, the wrong names, wrong parents. I mean, that happens. You call yourself what you want to call yourself. This is the land of the free." Bob Dylan Rate my PNL!: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/168471

I think it's a bit much. However I prefer it to some of the new made up names that look like they were picked from a random spoon of alphabet soup. I like that it has the backup name Lance he could go by should he find his name too heavy.

No. The only Lancelot I know is a cat.

I prefer Lancel. It's less obvious than Lancelot but not as generic as Lance.

I'm going with no (although I did know a kid with that name a few years ago). Lance is perfectly usable IMO.

It's very pretentious.

I like it, but I feel like it would warrant some teasing. It'd be nice to see it come back, though.

I think Lance is usable because my daughter's first little boyfriend, when she was 12, was named Lance. But not Lancelot. It's OTT.And to me it has a slightly comical air, because I always think of the "I Love Lucy" episode in which Lucy writes an operetta, and Ricky is forced to sing the words, "I am the good Prince Lancelot, I like to sing and dance a lot."

As my childhood friend used to say when two people said the same thing at the same time, "Jinx owes me a Coke."Don't ask, she's the only person I've heard say it.

The little song I was quoting was from the musical Spamalot.I agree that the name has a comical vibe.

Yes!!Hi !!!Yes!
Why not?I think that Lancelot has a very fascinating sound.
Its hitory is long and has a lovely Medieval vibe.
If we still use Tristan and Arthur or Gavin...why not Lancelot :)I like this name very much both in the English and French pronounciations.I rate it 8/10 (with 10 = the best).I hope it will be newly considered as good name!
