[Opinions] Paonessa...
is the name of the waitress I had last night. I should've asked her how to pronounce it, but I didn't.

Paonessa was the surname of a teacher I had when I was in 4th grade (technically she was a student teacher, but I liked her better than my actual teacher). It was pronounced puh-NES-uh. I'm guessing in her case it was someone's last name (perhaps her mother's maiden name?).
Pain in the ass-a
I wonder if her parents were named Paolo and Vanessa, and made a little too much of the "our child is an extension of ourselves" thing.
I suppose it's possible. I once knew a female Cheldon, whose parents are Michelle and Donald.
The beginning could possibly be pronounced similar to Paola.
It seems to be an Italian surname. I think it sounds rather beautiful, like a fairytale princess or something.
you sure you didn't just mishear Vanessa? I'm scratching my head at this. lol
It was on her name tag and the receipt.
