I've always liked it because it is a plant name and it is a word for a wise person. For a short name it is really great for a girl or a boy, although I tend to prefer names with more syllables.
Lastly I much prefer the spelling Sage, Saige looks weird and made up.

I like it, but I like it better on a boy. Saige looks too weird, just stick with Sage.
I've always really liked it for a girl or a boy! Saige just seems spelled wrong--why would someone want to get away from connotations to flora and wisdom?
I prefer longer names and generally don't love word names. But for a short word name, Sage is nice. Spelled this way. I know a woman in her mid 20s with this name and it fits her well. I like that it makes me think of the outdoors and of wisdom but these vibes aren't overpowering.
I don't like it at all. I don't like the sound of it, I don't much care for the herb, and to me it will always bring up the image of some gnarled old wiseacre with a Biblical beard.
I don't think it's a good name for a boy either, but it's definitely got a more masculine vibe
As for misspelling it.....why?

I think Sage is kind of pretty, and it's a nice new-age aspirational name. Saige makes it ugly in my opinion.
It's definitely not my style, but it's not awful.
Since "sage" is actually a word, please spell it right if you do use the name.

I think it works well as a middle name, less well as a first name...I want to like it more than I actually do...
I like that it's a color, a plant, and linked to wisdom (among other things), but I mainly think of sausage when I hear it.
I hate Saige because it looks misspelled. If someone used it just because they liked the sound but wanted to distance the name from the word's meaning and associations, then it might make sense, but I'd still dislike it in that case.

It's a spice to me, not a name.
I like it! (Sage, that is. I think Saige is silly. Sage is a plant, Saige is like an attempt at Paige or a surname or something.)
Fun fact: I had a dream last night where I adopted a tortoise and named it Sage. I think it was a boy though. I don't like Sage for a boy that much IRL although it's not bad.

I'm expecting this name to become more popular. I met a newborn with the name recently and have a coworker that is using the name when she gives birth in about 3 months.
I wouldn't be surprised. -age is a pretty popular sound right now, and the images for "sage" are on trend.
