I hate it for a girl, so pretentious and unnecessary plus it sounds more like an over the top nn than a name. It also sounds slightly more masculine than feminine but I hate it for a boy as well. Blake is much better than Blakesley, I actually like Blake for a boy or a girl. Even Blakely is better than Blakesley.

Isn't the name of the Bachelorette's daughter?Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, from the first season of "The Bachelorette", named their daughter Blakesley Grace in 2009. Their son is Maxwell Alston, and he was born in 2007.

I kind of like it, but I would not use it.

I think it's absolutely horrid for a girl, but it would be OK for a boy, nor great but not horrible.

It's kinda hard to say IMO. Seems slurred.

I agree!

Hi A !!!Blakesley is too close to a location-vibe name to be given as a FN.Blaecwulf instead is really fascinating.

I think it's so awful it's giving me hives. In a McMaddisyn way.

Sounds like the name of a spoiled brat.

It's a village here. I can't imagine it as a name!

Makes me think of a girl with baby blonde hair and a turned up nose, whose family lives on the Upper East Side most of the year but has a summer house on Long Island, and takes private sailing lessons and maybe owns a horse. Her middle name is Elizabeth or Katherine after her grandmother, and she goes to a private school that's tuition rivals that of some colleges.

Ha, my association is almost exactly the opposite. The name seems a bit...(i know this is gross of me to say)... More downmarket... along the lines of Brooklyn or a creative McName. It seems aspirational.

Agreed. It's awful, I'm sorry. Hard to say and doesn't sound real or substantial at all.

Ha, my perception of the rich might be screwed up. It just sounds so waspy to me. Maybe a better description would be used by parents who wish they lived on the upper east side and that their kid could take sailing lessons.

I also thought the description was opposite of my perception. Seems more trailer park than upper east side to me. Sorry.

ThisAccurate description.

Prefer Blake by itself, Blakesley sounds like a combination of Blake Lively's names!
