http://www.pronouncekiwi.com/NemetonaThoughts? Is it usable? Too weird? Does anything in particular come to mind when you hear it? And, wdyto Nem or Meta or Toni as a nickname for it?

Makes me think of nematodes.

Don't like it, sorry.I'm reminded of nematods (not sure of spelling),and not even sure what they are, except, something in the soil that are not good for plants.

All I think about is nematode worms! Which would make me refuse to use it. I think Sylvia could give the same sacred-grove impression without any awkwardness.

I'd say calling a child this would be pretentious, but I think a better adjective would be sadistic. Like so many names that get discussed here, it is interesting to occasionally ponder, but actually giving it to a living being would be abusive.

It's nice. Certainly nothing I've seen before, and it's pretty. 'Nem' could be a cute nn. Meta is fine too, I guess. Toni is one of those nice "normal" nicknames she could put on her business cards or whatever when she wanted to, you know, seem "normal."

I first thought of nematode, but that doesn't deter me. I embrace all oddities, especially if they sport a mythological pedigree!Nem is the best nickname option.

Reminds me of the word hematoma.

I think it's usable and I think Nem or Toni would make good nicknames! One thing to be cautious of: the religious connection is there and I'd assume her parents were Celtic neopagans (not that there's anything wrong with that!). If that bothers you then it's something to consider, if not then it's no big deal.

Hematoma.

Yeah, it reminds me of that vaguely. I pronounce Nem as 'nim' and Hem as 'heem' though, so they're not that alike out loud.

It reminds me of nematodes. And it sounds like either a disease or the medicine to treat it.Toni on its own is pretty cute.
