It’s pretty hard to make a list of favourite names when you’re talking about an entire continent. Care to narrow it down?

Very true. Names vary widely across the continent. The list I posted was pan-African, but it would be easier to focus on one region or one culture (Igbo, Fulani, Hausa, Tamazight, etc.).

I'm personally mostly interested in Northern African names, so basically Berber (Amazigh). My personal favourites are Izem, Idir, Amastan, Tafrara, Anarouz, and Meziane (all Berber), Tendai (Shona), Selorm (Ewe), Azmera (Amharic), Lesedi (Tswana), and Kwasi (Akan).
