I think Jazz alone works better on a boy. It’s feels much less trite in a boy I think. Jasmine “Jaz” has always felt a bit cheap to me.

If I were a geeky Jasmine I’d probably try to make “Minnie” or “Jay” work. I personally think JJ on a girl is adorable

Jay on a girl is charming. Minnie? Not sure about that one. This girl didn't really have a Minnie look. Too serious, or something.
