Desiree has a similar tone to names like Destiny, Diamond, Crystal, Serenity, Harmony, Precious, etc. I would pair it with names that are French inspired.

When my buddy was a preschooler, one of the assistants wasn't familiar with the name Desiree and did her best by calling her Daisy-Ray. I sometimes nn her Daisy to this day.

I like it, but I think, like Lola and Delilah, it's too overtly sexual. But based upon Delilah's popularity statistics, I'd say that few agree with me on that one, so maybe I'm just a crackpot.

I knew a lot of Desiree’s growing up. I never thought it was a pretty name, but I do like the nn Desi.

I really like it, but prefer it with the accent mark Desie is a cute nickname too.
