[Opinions] Luray
What do y’all think of this name? I knew of a girl with this name, but at first I kept thinking it was a boy name whenever I saw it written. I think it’s cool, but maybe a tad country. There’s also the association with Luray Caverns, a pretty cool place in Luray, Virginia.

It definitely gives off a country vibe, and not in a good way. I hate to use the term redneck, but unfortunately I get that image.

I immediately thought of the caverns and the area surrounding it, which has always felt sort of sad to me. As a name, it feels old to me, but I could see it being used by some hipster parents.
Hi !!!!
My first thought was that it is a Turkish name.
This is because I know at least two feminime names of two-syllables ending with 'ay' that means 'moon' in Turkish.

I prefer them to Luray.

Lu + ray definitely sounds "country", but I kind of like it...
I've been fond of Ray for a girl lately (I guess the new Star Wars movies' influence?), and I went to Luray Caverns as a kid, so nostalgia is a factor.

Sounds like a marine animal, or like a knockoff BluRay disc
Ha, I can see that.
