[Opinions] Istrak
I just heard of the name Istrak and i absolutely love it. Bold, strong, and handsome, it would make a great name for a boy. I plan to name that my oldest son. It's also great if you don't want your son sharing a name with half America and still don't want him to carry a bizarre, embarrassing name.

Reminds me of diss track. And I don't think half of America can share one name, even popular ones are not borne by that many people.

It has a nice sound, but history and meaning are very important to me, so it would never go on my list without knowing those things. It sounds a bit like a piece of exercise equipment or a military acronym.

Ok, for one thing, there's no name that half of America has. Also, when you google "Istrak name", google thinks you actually mean ostrich.Where did you hear of this?

https://www.behindthename.com/name/istrak/submittedApparently it's an ancient Aramaic name.
Can't say I like it, sorry. All I see is "I struck".

lmao it was submitted anonymously today, for all we know, the OP submitted it and then came to post about it. It is used in the book mentioned in the submission, but that's all I've found out about it so far.
(The name was submitted at 2:26 and OP posted at 2:32-- haha I'm voting the OP is M. Kenan trying to promote his books. The first book, BTW, is not notable enough to even mention in a name description-- 9 reviews on Goodreads. Hahaha).

There’s no info on the origin of this name. Is it completely made up?

I'm not sure. I've never had much luck looking up the Aramaic names in the database to be honest. The book its from was supposedly originally written in Hebrew, and reviews claim it's well-researched, so it might be a real name.
