[Opinions] Re: Tamara

I like this - perhaps due to the one person I knew of this name - whose long black waist length hair simply shined - and beyond her external lustre, she is simply a beautiful person. Perhaps however I should not allow my personal associations from a particular person or a mere few persons to color my impressions of a name.
Although I am aware that the name Tammy is not a direct derivative of the Russian source, at least not on paper, I think it is a softer variation for a nickname--especially perhaps for a child.
Not quite related, yet still partially, I enjoy when different names that at least seem etymologically different, i.e. "on paper" assimilate with similar hypocoristic pet names - that Tamara bears similar sonorities with Tamela, which is accidentally yet frequently confused with Pamela. Pamela is a name that I've been adoring of late - due to a recent, accidental reminder of a Pamela I once knew while extremely young. I hold extensive warmth, yet empathy toward this lady, who I knew (of?) before the age of six and perhaps through extremely few occasions--ever so shortly beyond that age. I am really into the name Pamela right now - and I have difficulty discerning whether my feelings toward the name Pamela are bound to the (I think) one lady I knew that I hold emotional reverence beyond that of fully conscious recollection.
