Oh, I'd never heard that! I like the look and sound a lot. It does remind me of Tristan and Dorian, but Aidan makes me think more of Cayden, Jayden, Brayden, etc nowadays. And I prefer how the "-on" in this looks to the "-an" at the end of the others.
