[Opinions] Special BA + Others
I've been MIA for approximately 9 months, as I was dealing with all-day morning sickness and then awful round ligament pain, not to mention being exhausted all the time. I still read the boards fairly often, but I just didn't feel up to posting. ANYWAY, all this to say, our baby boy arrived about 2.5 weeks ago! We are thrilled with him! And now for the part you care about: the name!
Adam Robert Donovan Sh---
If you recall, I liked names like Tristram, Callum, Benedict, and Ephraim. We'd even, at a point before we were pregnant, settled on a compromise name of Nathaniel. However, by the time we were expecting, both of us had cooled on that name. My husband has loved the name Adam his whole life basically. Even though I had never liked the name, I began to think of the baby by the name whenever considering that he may be a he. And when we found out, I thought, "There's Adam." Of course, the whole time, I was still acting like I wasn't even considering the name. I gave it to my husband for Christmas on a handmade card. Because the name isn't my style and I've never liked it in general, but it's his name, it felt like his name, and I love him, so ...I guess the name isn't so bad. You could say I have a soft spot for it now. Robert is for DH's uncle. Donovan we threw in because the name had to be a little more interesting for me, and we thought it sounded solid.
I've been on a pregnancy app. I had to jump to their April board when little one was born, but I still visit the May board, and people there have begun to have their babies, so here's a list of newborns!

Oops, guess I read this as referring to your dh: "... but it's his name, it felt like his name, and I love him, so ...I guess the name isn't so bad."
Congrats again!
Congrats again!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Yeah, I'm not crazy about many of them either. I didn't realize Matylda is a legitimate spelling until just now. I wonder if they were going for a Czech/Polish name or if it was creativity at work...

Congrats on the new baby! And his name is awesome btw.
Thank you and thank you! I've grown to love his name for him, if that makes sense.
Thank you!
