Help[Opinions] Sarla
I came across this name in an Indian novel. I wouldn't use it unless I had a child with someone from the subcontinent, plus she'd get called Carla all the time, but I find it elegant and like the shape and sound of it. Thoughts?

It's not bad, and I'd probably like it in context, but since Rox posted all I can see is mistyped Starla. :)

I don’t have enough information to form an opinion. What’s the linguistic origin and meaning? Is it popular in its country of origin?

As a sci-fi geek, my first thought was “Sarlacc”. I can’t like it, sorry.

This is what happens when somebody types my name too fast and doesn't quite hit the t. It has happened more times than a few, and I've done it myself.

The Carla similarity didn't occur to me until you mentioned it. All I got was Sarah as an initial reaction. I like how Sarla looks, and I love how it sounds. It's just a little too close to Sarah which I'm not too fond of, although the more I consider it, the more I see it separately.
