Message: "Shad" - Behind the Name

This name randomly entered my mind today and I'm not even that familiar with it. Thoughts?

Apparently it is an Arabic name meaning "Happy" and also English name, possibly a variant of Chad.

And because the names are so similar...

Shad or Chad? Which do you prefer?

It may be all of those good things, but where I live, it's a particularly delicious, sought-after food fish.

Better than Tuna or Haddock, I admit.

I've only ever heard it as a diminutive of Shadrach. I like it.

I have a friend named Shad as a nn for Shadrach. I prefer it to Chad tbh.

My first impression was that it looks like a NN for Shadrach. It's ok.

I like it way more than Chad. Sh is much more pleasant to me than Ch, it's not dated like Chad is, and the meaning seems more positive.
