It makes me think of Carolus Linnaeus, father of the scientific classification. :) Not a bad connotation!! :) I like it-- is it prn linn-AY-ah? That's what I'm assuming. It's a nice name. I always have a hard time thinking up good L names (for example, when I'm bored and do name combos for every letter of hte alphabet). :) :)
I really like it. It would be in contention if I have a girl if DH liked it. Of course, he doesn't. I have Scandinavian ancestry, so it would work really well.
I like it too.
I really like Linnea too. I like Linnea Rose and Linnea Catherine, also Linnea Charlotte. A cute nickname is Linnet.
I love Linnea! It was almost my name, but my dad didn't care for it. Of the combos, I like Linnea Rose & Linnea Maren. Hope, Blythe & Catherine just don't do anything for me. I just asked my mom, and she said my full name probably would have been Linnea Corinne (had my father approved) if you are looking for any more suggestions.
I live in the Chicago area, so no I don't think it's too Swedish. I've never met any Americans named Linnea, but I think that most English-speaking folks would more likely associate the name with the flower rather than a specific heritage. Out of curiosity, where do this "American chick from Jersey and her English bloke husband" reside?
northern New Jersey- I'm from the metro area.
Ah...I've got family in southern Jersey, down by the Cape May area.
