It’s just another two-syllable last name ending in -n, as a first name. It seems really out of place. Just use Levi, or Leofwine / Lofwin if you’re basing it on that.

But I wasn’t asking about Levi (which I don’t really like) or Leofwine (which I find impractical), I was asking about Lewin!

I've never seen it irl, but I'd be pleased to see it as a first name (I have a thing for medieval survivals) & think it's very usable - it's got a great meaning, it's easy to spell and say, and shortens neatly if you want it to. And it's got excellent history. There are multiple references to it, in its various forms, in the Domesday Book:
