Three engagements followed by two weddings, one birth and sadly one death, that sums up the last five years in the Kingdom of Courteney. Five years ago the whole Kingdom was celebrating the birth of the heir Prince Leopold, only to mourn his premature death several months later after the little Prince just stopped breathing in his sleep. Both Frederick and Cecily were shatterd upon the sudden death of their son, what's more worrying is that they were unable to conceive another baby ever since, Frederick's young brother Felix therefore is currently the only heir to the throne.
Following the tragedy was a series of happy events. First the Dowager Queen Maude got engaged to French Baron Julian de Evelyn, only to marry him months later at his large estate in Provance where the couple resides. Two years later Frederick's sister Victoria got engaged to Duke Renard Veteripont, unlike many others in the family this was not an arranged marriage and Frederick allowed his sister to marry for love. The couple now resides in Duke's home in East Sussex. The last to get engaged, but not marry yet was Frederick's youngest sister Matilda. The King of the neighbouring Kingdom of Altard had his eyes set on the Princess for some time, and Frederick finally agreed to an engagement a year ago after Matilda turned seventeen. Although the future marriage is arranged the young Princess is pleased with the choice of her handsome, sadly notoriously unfaithful, future husband and counts the day until her nineteenth birthday when their wedding will be held. Lastly not so long ago the happy news of the birth of Baroness Eulalie de Evelyn reached the Kingdom, although the marriage of Maude to their father was very shortlived, especially the older children grew close to their step-mother and find a great joy in her current happiness.
