I can't get over the "burger" part.

I think the Harry Potter character probably made it unusable, because that's the only place most people will have heard it.

Beyond that, I like the connection to Walpurgis Night and the Wal/Val part, but I dislike the *burga even if it's pronounced birka.

The meaning by itself isn't bad, but in connection with the HP character, it makes me think "domineering"...colorwise, I'd say it's black/plum/brown.

It is kind of cool...like, idk, finding a battleaxe in your great-grandma's attic? but I'd prefer another Wal/Val name.

I’m going to be honest, I blame Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix for my distaste for this name. Walburga is the name of Sirius Black’s mum and she was portrayed as such a horrible and vile woman that much like the names of other bad/ evil HP characters (Dolores, Bellatrix, etc..) I’ve been put off the name. It’s a shame really, it’s such a nice name but I can’t get past Sirius Black’s screaming mother. I wish Rowling had used a different name for that character because I’ve been completely put off it.

It sounds like the name of a fast food chain: "Welcome to Walburga, may I take your order?". :P

*sigh* so many German/Germanic names are so lovely when said right, but turn into hags when read in American English. Wall-Burr-Guh. Seriously almost no one would I know like being named that! It seems so ugly. Can't we respell it Valbirka? Please? Then it'd be as awesome as it actually is, and our pronunciation might even be more accurate.
