I like it for a character but I would never use it in real life. I live in the US and I have the feeling most people are going to notice the “gun” part.

I like it and the meaning. Think it works best in a Scandinavian country, where it will be pronounced correctly.

I'm not at all a fan of any name containing the word "Gun" in it, ESPECIALLY Gunnar. Both the sound and physical qualities of the name come across as extremely unappealing. Also, it sounds too similar to the word "Gonna"
The name Gunther is terrible. Gunnar however takes it to another level.

I greatly dislike it. "War warrior" is a redundant and militant meaning, and it's too evocative of the English word "gunner" for me.

I'm a Swede, so I think of it as an old man's name but I still think it's an alright name. I dislike how it's pronounced in English though, and how people try to use it to be 'cool' because of the Gun- part. It's strictly masculine to me.

I knew brothers growing up, Gunnar and Garth. They were kind of jerks, so that association taints the name for me, but even without that, I don't love it.

Hi !!!I like the name Gunnar!
I rate It 8/10.
It is simple to spelling and pronounce in many languages.
It is strong with a very typical Scandinavian vibe.I think It is only masculine. If you are looking for a similar but feminine name I suggest you Gunda (It means 'war' and I think It is related with valkyries).
