I like it...(m)...but I was obsessed with the 3 Ninjas growing up, and Colt is the "ninja" name of the middle child. So while I know it's a horse and a gun, my first thought is ninjas. I do agree it's a bit abrupt, and think I like Colton as a full name better. Although, I'm not typically one that likes too surnamey names as given names.

Too "teenage" for me. It sounds too old for someone under high school age and too young for someone older.

The young horse, or the gun? Neither appeals to me, but I'd rather be a horse!

Am I the only one that immediately thought of "cult"? It sounds exactly the same even if it's one letter different and a cult is really not something I'd want my name associated with. Apart from that, colt is a cool word but too abrupt for a name imo.

I like ColtHi !!!I think that It is not the worst surname I've ever seen. I like that It is the little horse. The Italian form has a so ugly sound (puledro) that Colt is ok. I admit that the link with guns is better for a nickname than for a given name despite there are many and many names related with swords and spears...what is the difference? There is no difference.I would not use it but I vote 'I like Colt'. It is better than other names.

I hate it. A colt is a horse, but it's also a gun, and I hate guns. In Swedish a kolt is either an old-fashioned unisex dress for small children or a traditional Saami folk costume.

HorsesIt's abrupt, an ugly surname, and just makes me think of horses. I really dislike it.
