I dunno I think it’s kind of pretty and unassuming.
Carly is a weird name for me because it sits in my mind as simultaneously punk rock and preppy cheerleader. Adding the -lene makes it lean (ha!) a little more “edgy but salt of the earth”

Phil Vassar (I think) also has a song called "Carlene."
I'm not fond of it. I like Charlene and I like Carla and I really like Carly, but Carlene just tries to get all the best of those names into one package, and they all lose something.

It reminds me of Epponnee-Raelene Kathleen Darlene Charlene Craig of Kath & Kim fame.
