[Opinions] Carrington
I am really loving the name Carrington for a girl. What do you think?

It sounds incredibly bitchy. I can see it belonging to a snobby, rich "queen bee"-type character a la Regina George from Mean Girls.

I really dislike obvious surnames as first names. And while the beginning is nice for a girl, the ending seems rough. That said, I don't really like the name at all.

As a name I think it sounds neither attractive nor feminine.

Sorry, but I don’t like it either. I really hate random surnames as first names, but I especially hate them on girls and I especially especially hate the ones that sound like an aging Queen Snoot of Snootland.

It sounds really southern trendy. I don't like it because it sounds uber masculine to me.

I went through a brief phase as a teenager and liked this name for a girl. Now, I can't imagine why I did. Most people would probably assume the parents of a Carrington were huge Dynasty fans.

It makes me think of an upper class or aristocratic gentleman from Victorian or Edwardian England. Sir Carrington Archibald Gladwyn III.It would work fine for a boy, but not a girl. Why not just use Carrie it's a better choice for a girl or what about Carrigan or Kerrigan.

I think it's unbearably pompous and snobby.
UIt's a Dynasty name, from the 1980s prime-time soap opera Dynasty. But unlike Fallon, Alexis and Krystle, it never caught on and it's got no association for most people aside from the show.

Did you watch the 1995 film about Dora Carrington by any chance?Because that is what I was immediately reminded of: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112637/ , and it's because of this that I can actually see it on a girl.Dora Carrington was a real person, by the way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dora_Carrington

Abysmal. If you like the sound, then why not go for Caroline? Lord Carrington was the UK Foreign Secretary a couple of decades back, and did a good job, but if I recall, his actual surname used to be Smith ... let's say Carrington is just the teensiest bit pretentious!

Crystal Carrington
That's all I can think of with this name

Krystle Carrington.
And Alexis Carrington and Fallon Colby, and there's probably others I don't know.

Krystle, actually.

Hi !!!Why do you love It?
Have you got a particular link maybe with a historical or fictional figure or do you like its look, sound or meaning? The only link with Carrington that I have is a minor character in Lovecraft tale 'The Shunned House'. It was given to a male: Carrington Harris.

Dora Carrington who was known by her surname, was a famous artist and part of the Bloomsbury set.

I think it's a surname and not suitable as a FN, especially not for a girl.

This.

AgreeI think it's really snooty sounding actually. If you wanted Carrie I think there are far nicer names out there, rather than resorting to using surnames.
