With Joan an adult with a family of her own, Benjamin and Heather gave up on ever adding more of their own children. Joan was enough of a handful growing up and little Dulcie seems to take after her mother in many, many ways. Even at eight years old, Dulcie has won her mother's old nickname, The Little Wanderer.
Joan and Simon started their family soon after their engagement. Tobias Alan Shelby arrived just after his parents' wedding, much to everyone's surprise. Having kept the physical nature of their relationship secret, Joan herself didn't catch this second pregnancy.
Now, with two toddlers and a newborn, Joan has no time to wander but her children keep her happily tied down. Turns out, she sought some meaning in life as she wandered from place to place as a child and having children of her own gave her exactly what she had been searching for.
