I have the impression that Aphra Behn pronounced her name as AYfra, not AFra. So, maybe changing the spelling and pronunciation would help; of course it would also help to disguise the name so successfully that one might as well just pick something else.

I think many people would have strong feelings about it, race-wise, and feelings about who should and shouldn’t use it. I wouldn’t want to touch that argument with a ten-foot pole, and would therefore never ever use the name.
