It's an awesome name.
I think its lovely, but I worry that most people are only familiar with it from X-men and would pronounce it EX-ay-vee-er rather than zay-vee-er which I think is much nicer.
I always expect it to sound like ZAY vee er and to be a sign of Catholicism. Since I am wrong so often, on both counts, I don't really know what to think.
What I know is that I'd never use it, however many sons I might have. It's just too unEnglish!

I really love Xavier. It is one of my favorites.
Well,I only know one, a young cousin of sorts, age about 15. so he's the one I think of.
It's a name I'd use if pushed, if, for example, my husband wanted it enough. so, I like it well enough.
This young man has an older brother named for a U.S. State (a western one); he's a semi-pro hockey player, Canadian, so why named that, I don't know, just a family that likes less familiar names.
I'd say which state, but it too closely identifies them, or, I'd think so.
People don't name after Canadian provinces, or at least, rarely. although I see Nova popping up sometimes, as in Nova Scotia.

I love it and wish it wasn't so popular.
I'm not really sure. Time was, I'd say I liked it, but now I think I don't like it. It sounds just a bit weird, somehow, and looks weirder.
