[Opinions] Bathsheba
Replies
The meaning and sound are interesting to me.
Bathsheba and Batsheva come across as outlandish and/or religious in the US, plus Bat and Bath stick out in a mostly unpleasant way, since they're words in English but not common name elements. I like them as GPs but would hesitate to use them.
I like the French and Spanish versions a lot. I don't think most people I know would recognize them as forms of Bathsheba. I'd feel more comfortable using those, maybe with a NN like Bette, Bess, or Betsy.

This is my friend's sister's name. I don't like the sound.
I don't think it's super usable, given the Biblical story and the connotations (unjust, but nonetheless many hold them) of a "temptress". Just by it's sound, I think it's nice. I'd go with Elisheva instead, personally.
