[Opinions] Varinia, Valencia, or Vasilica
Inspired by Billina's "Baxter, Brady, or Blaine" post. If you had to name your daughter Varinia, Valencia, or Vasilica, which would you choose and why?

VariniaI love that it's an underused Roman name -- it sounds like a minor Dickens character.

Valencia. It sounds nice, and is a name that's not used a lot.

I’ve considered actually using Valencia and had her as a middle for my top name for years. The meaning is what first drew me to it, but I love the beauty and strength behind the name. The one thing is that I’ve never been to Valencia, but I’d probably use it anyway (the orange connection doesn’t bother me).

Valencia for sure. Rather Valentina, but I like Val, and Varinia sounds like a bacterium name to me. I wonder if Varia (VAHR- like Varius) was ever a name. It would be interesting.
I'd be torn if it were Valencia vs. Vasilisa, but Vasilica reminds me of basilica too much. Probably I'd still go with Valencia, because the vas- part has negative sound associations for me (vas deferens, vacillating, facility).OH that's another word Felicity reminds me of. Facility. Gah, it's unlovely.

Hi queenv !!!I choose Vasilica (but I prefer Vasilisa, Vassiliki or Vassilissa).I came across Varinia but it is too weird. I can see Valencia only on a pet.

Vasilica. I work with someone named Vasiliki (she's Greek-American) and I think it's very pretty. Varinia makes me think of varmints, and Valencia makes me think of oranges and the bitchy character on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
