[Opinions] Re: Gertrude

I absolutely love the name Gertrude and if it didn't seem to be so universally reviled I would use it in a heartbeat.
I like both Gertie and Trudy, but I prefer Gertie. If I ever get a female dog I think she'll be called Gertrude.
I taught a little Trudy (just Trudy) a few years ago, and no one seemed to think her name was weird or ugly, so maybe in a few years Gertrude can make a comeback like Hazel did. I remember when I was a kid everyone thought my middle name Olivia was an ugly old lady name.

I agree; yet a person can really breathe magic & life into this one - even due to its very "clunk-i-ness". I love that Gertrude has an arsenal of nick-names - and that s/he should use which ever nick-name works best for her preferene.
