[Opinions] Tanaquil
I think I'm obsessed with Tanaquil. I'm sure many people will dismiss it because it evokes DayQuil and NyQuil, but for me, Tanaquil Le Clercq (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanaquil_Le_Clercq) and the Etruscan queen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanaquil) eclipse the name's association with cold medication. What does everyone else think?
Here, of course, are some combos:
Tanaquil Amelia
Tanaquil Audrey
Tanaquil Aurora
Tanaquil Beata
Tanaquil Cecilia
Tanaquil Diana
Tanaquil Edith

It does make me think of medicine, but I also misread it at first as Tranquil.
I don’t know if it’s usable but I find it lovely and delightful!
Tanaquil Enid and Tanaquil Odette are especially wonderful

Hi Wordsmith !!!
I've never seen it before but it's so sweet!
It reminds me of flowers, plants and mountains as Tanaquil seems 'tanaceto' the Italian word for Tansy. It is also close to 'tranquil' as someone said and this is a further positive link with it.
I love it has also an historical link!
Thanks to bring these rare names to our attention.

For me, it always reminds me in sound of Tolkien's Quenya language in general, and specifically Taniquetil (the name of a mountain in his works.)
So I like the sound of it, but it's also kind of hard for me to consider as a person name.

I think it sounds lovely! I don’t think we have DayQuil and NyQuil in the UK, so I don’t really have that association. It’s just a beautiful name.
I particularly love the combinations Tanaquil Florence, Tanaquil Maude, and Tanaquil Sophia!

I like it; and I find little reason that she cannot use Tana, Ann(e) or Anna(h) as a short or more common nick name of she prefers.
What I dislike about it is the excess similarity to the word "tranquil" (which is exactly what makes -quil names appealing for the marketing of soothing medications). The spelling makes it too easy to misread as Tranquil, and even makes it seem like an adjective, especially in combos with names that are nouns.
It is a cool name though... said out loud as a name, with TAHN as the first syllable rather than TAN, the association with tranquil fades. I'd like it spelled another way. Thanacuil wouldn't be bad IMO.

no ...
Those associations are just too obscure and trying too hard.
Tanaquil: use only as directed. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery after taking.
