I worked with a girl with this name about 12 years ago. The way she introduced herself was, "Alita, like a litre of milk". Maybe it would work in a country that doesn't use the metric system but that's how I will always think of Alita. Plus, it's just another A name for girls for people to confuse with Anita, Aminta, Alira etc.
