[Opinions] Trixie
Loving this vintage cute name, reminds me of 1920s - 1950s English girl name. What do you think?
What middle name would suit?

It's a cute nickname for Beatrix or as a name for a pet, but not as a name in itself. The kid'll become a Goth or an accountant to spite you.

It’s super cute but it sounds like a pet’s name.

I'm completely down with it as a nickname for Beatrix. I don't like it as a full name, though. I've known several dogs named Trixie, I guess because it has the words "tricks" in it? I agree that it's adorably vintage; it makes me think of the blonde nurse on Call the Midwife, and she is so cute.

I've known so many pets with this name, it's strictly a dog/cat name to my ears (a la Bailey or Coco).

It reminds me of a character from one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, so that's not a bad association. Otherwise I don't think I would be that enthused by it but it does have a certain charm.
It seems like one of those names that might benefit from standing solo (no middle).

It makes me think of Trix cereal, and I hear it in Gollum's voice...

It’s ok as a nn for Beatrice of Beatrix, but very nicknamey and childish on its own.

I loooove Trixie! I’ve mostly seen her get negative comments, but I don’t really care. I think it’s a fun, energetic, playful name with a certain kindness and caring side too. Stylish, fashionable, intelligent and straight talking, but not mean. I connect it with a character (BeatrixTrixieFranklin from Call the Midwife) and she really made me love it. Trixie is a big part of the reason why I prefer Beatrix over Beatrice. I’ve struggled a bit with middles for Trixie, names like Tallulah, Sylvie and many -we ending names feel right, but sound too cutesy imo. Maybe Trixie Marilyn, Trixie Lavender, or Trixie Elizabeth.

We had a cat named Trixie. My daughter wanted to name her Beatrix after a character in "Kill Bill" but I thought Beatrix was a bit of a mouthful, so I suggested Trixie, a nickname for Beatrix. It's a cute cat name, but I have trouble taking it seriously on a human.

Same here! It was my dog's name. She was a long-haired Dachshund who was about 15 years old when she passed away in about 2007. I cannot separate the name from her or picture it on a human, let alone an adult one. It is most definitely a pet name to me.

I think it's sickly and cheap at the same time. Like somebody's poodle and a 1940's hooker.
