I like both to be honest. I think Annabel is nice for someone Anglo and Annabelle someone French.

Agree, Annabel is neither one thing nor the other; personally I prefer the Spanish variant Anabel or Isabel, the look is more pure, catchy, short & concise.
Second choice would be the French form Annabelle or Isabelle.

I prefer Annabel, it's sleek, stylish, and sophisticated.

To me, the extra two letters in Annabelle, change the 'feel' of the name. Personally, I feel Annabelle lacks Annabel's style and sophistication, it's all too frilly/froufrou!

Annabel looks better to me. Annabelle is just too much. Idk what gender has to do with this tho :P

I only like Annabel, which is one of my favorite names. Annabelle looks like it has ruffles and frills on it, which I hate as much as ruffles and frills on clothing. I feel like this opinion is in the minority most of the time -- but not here, which is great. I love name nerds like me.

I feel the same about Isabel/Isobel (like) vs. Isabelle/Isabella (hate). Gabriel is my favorite male name and I loathe Gabrielle and Gabriella. (Part of that is because I like the long A in the English pronunciation of Gabriel but not the short A in Gabrielle/a.)

I agree, Annabel does look incomplete to me as well. But I'd guess that most people (at least in English-speaking countries) would assume the Annabel spelling if they only heard the name, as it's more historically common.

Annabel, because it looks more simple. Annabelle looks to frilly and like you combined Anna and Belle. Annabel reminds me of Isabel.

Definitely Annabel. It looks much nicer and I get a better image from it. I would also put the emphasis on the first syllable which I prefer. Annabelle I pronounce with the emphasis on the last syllable. While Annabel is a cute little girl with brown hair and rosy cheeks, Annabelle is a dessert with way too much sugar or that creepy doll from the movies (which is why I think its popularity has gone down like crazy in the last few years).

I prefer Annabel. It just looks less fussy to me.

I have never been a fan of adding an extra -le to names where they weren't added organically, Danielle and Arielle end in -ELLE because they are feminizations of male names ending in -EL, the -LE at the end of names like Annabelle is just an attempt to make it fit in with those other names.

Annabel looks neat and tidy to me, and Annabelle is a false etymology as well as frilly to the point of messiness.

I prefer Annabel and I don't think it has much to do with my gender identity.

Annabelle mainly looks like a smoosh name to me. Annabel looks more cohesive.
