I love German and I like a lot of German names that are generally considered ugly. This one is a little iffy even for me, in terms of sound, although it has a positive meaning.
Unfortunately I think German names lose a lot of their charm when used in an English-speaking context (i.e. without a German accent). That would definitely be the case for Friedlieb.
