[Opinions] Anatole
I knew a guy in high school named Anatole (he pronounced it like Anatoly). I've really been intrigued by it lately. I like the sound and the meaning. What do you think?

It's okay. It has a lovely meaning but I am not a fan of it stylistically.

I love it! It's so refined and sleek.

It is a pretty common East Slavic male name, so I do not find it too out there, at least for me because I grew up around a lot of East European immigrants. I prefer the female version of Anatolia or the French Anatolie. An old favorite which is an archaic French form for a girl is Anathalie. I don't think the male version is bad at all. It is a more refreshing alternative to Anthony and it has a nice meaning.

Anatole seems a bit rough, at least in appearance. I prefer Anatolius, it seems smoother and more sophisticated.

Hi !!!I pronounce Anatole and Anatoly differently. Anyway I find this name exotic and fascinating. I agree with you about its nice sound!I love names related with light (and sun, moon, stars..). I don't know if this name Is still used in Modern Greek too but I personally hope for it.

I think it is pretty classic and common across the Eastern Christian world because it is the name of a saint. I am not sure about Greece, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was still common there.
