[Opinions] Jessica
Wdyt of Jessica?

I have so many friends names Jessica. It is very dated, but I appreciate the sound and why it initially became popular. Ironic how an obscure Anglo-Norman Jewish name would become one of the most popular female names almost 1,000 years after its use.
I like it but it's become boring through overuse.
I've never cared for the "sic" part at the end of Jessica although I do think Jessie/Jess/Jessa are nice. Overall, it's just been too popular for me to ever consider. It is, however, one of my dh's favorite names for girls/women.

It's my name. It's okay but I prefer Jessie and Jessa- yep, even as full names, it avoids the "sic" part and poularity all in one go. Plus, I think of myself as "Jessie" but find it hard to introduce myself as anything other than "Jess".
It was the #1 name the year I was born and I do sometimes go into new jobs and introduce myself to hear, "That makes 4 Jesses". Though I'm sure that wouldn't happen to Jessicas born today. It is definitely dated and stange to hear on a young girl.

Jessica is beautiful. I don't care if it's dated.
I've always liked it enough. I don't like Jess or Jessie though (but Jesse for a boy is fine).
Same here. I think that is a major downside of the name. I just find Jess/Jessie harsh on a girl.
Me too and i know sisters with those names.
I think they are the quintessential sibset. Not too close at all.
It's okay. A bit overused though.
In reality it's too common and dated. I do like the sound though.
