Sounds pleasant and wordy. I'd be no more or less likely to use it than I would be to use Maeve or Mavis. I like those, but they're not favorites.

I like it, and it feels familiar to me too. Probably because of Maeve and Maren. I don't really know if I prefer Maven or Maeve soundwise, but I prefer the look of Maeve.

I like Maven and actually I'm glad you've brought it to my attention because it might find itself on my long girls list. I prefer it over Maeve - for some reason I've never been fond of that name - it feels more complete and I prefer the sound.

I've always digged the long A sound in boys names (Blake, Kaden, Kane, and Tate are all on my long boys list) and the rhyming Raven is on my long girls list also.

I like the sound, but I'm not nuts about it. Maven is a Yiddish word for someone who is an expert or is really good at something, so it feels like a trendy name (Mason, Fletcher, Sailor, etc.) to me.

Maven reminds me of the word for “expert “. Maeve or Maeva is way better.

Whether it's a form of Maeve or not, its other life is (a) an expert on something, usually self-defined and (b) a software project management and comprehension tool.

I knew it was a noun but after googling it I realized I had no idea it meant "expert", I thought it meant something else.
I guess it sounds alright, but I'd prefer Maeve. Or Maren for the Ma_en formula.

I do like Maven, but it sounds like a cross between Mavis and Raven and I'd probably choose one of those over Maven if I had to. However I prefer it over Maeve, which sounds incomplete to me and I picture a bearer of the name to be a snobby rich girl.
