They teased, but the Dowager Queen knew her elder boys, military Christopher, quiet and studious Nicholas, and rebellious Felix, genuinely were jealous that their unobtrusive baby brother Oliver had become engaged before them. She was only a Countess, but she was pretty and clever and Oliver seemed to like her, so the Dowager was content. Will and Meg had both followed through on their engagements and seemed happy enough - Kitty had given Will two children already, which was good indeed. They were both girls, but still, there was time. Perhaps she'd bear as many children as the Dowager herself; if so, the old Queen reflected bitterly, hopefully less of them would meet an early grave.
