[Opinions] Serenity for a girl?
I love the word Serenity but not sure i would go as far as calling my child by that name, what does everyone think?

I suppose Serenity could work. Felicity does. I confess Serenity reminds me of the feminine product, sorry. I do like Serena, though.

Well, I wouldn't use it on a guy . . .lol, I love Serenity for a girl.

I can see the appeal but..1) adult diapers
2) George Costanza's father shrieking "SERENITY NOW" on that episode of SeinfeldBoth associations pretty much ruin it for me.

I don't like it, sorry. I don't like word names anyway, and this one has sci-fi connotations, which I don't like, either.

I find it a bit tacky, like Trinity and Destiny. :-/ But even worse, it's the name of an incontinence pad in the U.S. :(

In theory, I love it. The Serenity Prayer is one of my favorites. However, as with all virtue names, I worry that it's a lot to live up to. ----Betsy-----

I quite like it actually - although a word of advice: Prepare yourself for a lot of Firefly references if you do. I'm not sure if I'd use it myself, maybe as a mn.

Serenity is a very beautiful sentiment. But it makes me think of those adult diapers. I've always liked the name Serena, because of the word "serene" in there. It reminds me of "Her Serene Highness, Princess Grace of Monaco." Of course "serene" has a different sound than "sereni-," but I thought I'd throw it out there to see if you like it anyway. I do like other virtue names ending in "-ity," like Verity and Felicity. They have a lightness about them that is very appealing.

I'm a big fan of Virtue names you haven't seen much of since the Pilgims and Puritans, though Serenity has never been one of my favorites. Still, at least it's not as out-there as something like Fear, Thankful, Hopeful, Remember, or Increase.

Serenity, Trinity, and Neveah are all sort of lumped together in my mind & thats not a good thing. Its kind of odd since I don't mind some virtue like names, Grace, Faith, Hope, Honour, & Clementine.

Yeah, that might be a little over the top. Nice idea, but not practical, imo.-Bethany
