I like it a lot. It has a nice sound, and I like the biblical story. I think it works equally well as a first and middle name. I don't like the nicknames Jon and Jonny.

Jonathan has been on and off my Top 10 for a long time. I go back and forth on whether I prefer Jonathan or Nathaniel (right now I'm in a Nathaniel phase). Only once has it ever appeared in my Top 10 as a middle name: Isaac Jonathan.

Jonathan David & Peter Jonathan sound the best to me.

I love Jonathan as a first name. Jonathan David was actually on my short list for a long, long time. I still love it but won't get to use it IRL because our first DS's middle name is John.

Julian Jonathan sounds just terrible. Jonathan Jacob makes me think of John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.
