Because of Fiddler, I think a lot of people would go for the LAY-zer pronunciation first, which my brain absolutely will not let me say in anything but a Dr. Evil voice.

I actually like your pronunciation a lot, but the laser connection makes it a dealbreaker for me.

It's okay, but not one of my favourite biblical names. Definitely better than Lazarus, though. I always pronounced it LAY-zər because of Lazar / Lazer (sorry, can't remember the spelling) Wolf in the Fiddler on the Roof, but la-zar does sound better.

... I've always pronounced it like "laser" because of Fiddler on the Roof. lol. "luh-zar" is much nicer. It's slinky and spooky.
