I like it, overall. I've known one, so it's familiar; it's elegant and has verve...but I do think there is something pinched about it, and I do vaguely associate it with warfare.I prefer Minerve slightly - I think it's both more jaunty and more dignified - but I know that's an unpopular opinion.

I think it's a really cool name, personally, but it might pose some problems - namely due to the "nerve" part right in the middle. Though I suppose there are worse things to be called than "nervy" / "nervous".I like it as a middle name, too. A combo that used to be in my Top 10 was Aline Minerva.

I think it's lovely - unusual but not too unfamiliar thanks to Harry Potter, and fairly straightforward in terms of spelling and pronunciation. I had a classmate in high school named Minerva and it didn't seem out of place or too much at all (granted, we were in drama club, where "too much" isn't a concept)

Love itReally wanted to use it for my second daughter but hubby wasn't as keen on it and after testing it out with a few friends got some pretty horrendous reactions. If we had a third, i'd love to use it but with Hermione and Minerva in the same sibling set, it would be just too HP :(
Damn JK Rowling for using so many great names!

She really did use awesome names! Love Hermione.

I like it as a middle name, but it's a lot for a little girl as a first name (unless it's Mina for short or something).

I adore it!

I’d really like to love it for an actual child, since I love the goddess and HP connection, and I like Minnie as a nickname. But I can’t quite get on board the -nerv sound. I have it as a top name, but for a cat haha. I’d love to meet one though.

I like it. There's at least one in my due-date group (and a few more babies have it as a middle name). I don't like any of the nicknames though, so it'd be a middle name only for me.

I like it. The mythological association is great, since Minerva was the goddess of wisdom, and Minerva McGonagall is also a great namesake. Minnie makes a cute nickname.

I'd assume the parents were Harry Potter fans... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think it's kind of cute. I'd hate to see the nickname Minnie being used. I'm not sure how real of a risk it is, but that alone would give me pause.

I like the nickname Mina.

Oh I like Mina! If you could establish that, I think it would be lovely
