It's not my favorite as a first name, but I love it in the middle spot. My great-grandfather was named Gar (short for Garfield, but always went by Gar) and I've always thought it would be a nice way to honor him.

NMS - too ostentatious and eccentric.

I really like it! I've met one (she'd be about 30). The initial sound is harsh; the flower is lovely. I think of vibrant dark green, clarity, and music when I see it.There's also something ostentatious or eccentric about it, the way I'd say there is with most unusual flower names. I think it's similar in style to Primrose, Magnolia, Amaryllis. If I try to think of non-flower names, maybe Agatha, Adina, Geraldine, Adelaide, Nadia, Zipporah.

It’s too wordy, little better than,,say, Tulip.

This is a flower name that doesn't work so well. It sounds like something you might name a purebred white cat.

It's not one of my favourite flower names, since it's too close to "garden".

I like it. We had a gardenia plant when I was very young, and the flowers smelled wonderful.
