[Opinions] Longin
Wdyt of Longin?
Replies
I can't decide whether it's Lon-gin (with a hard G) or Long-in. Either wat, I don't like it.
It's actually LONG-een (which doesn't make it any better IMO)
I initially misread that as "Login" - as in, a login to a website or database. I understand the word is likely very different in Polish (Google translate says "zaloguj się"), but for me this is a hard pass.
We use the term login in Polish too, and that association makes it unusable for people living in the 21st century. That being said, Longin has never appeared on popularity charts, and I've never heard of one (save the saint).
I can't say I care for it. It just makes me think of the word, 'longing' or someone who has loged into something.
It looks like a typo and doesn't have a very good sound to it.

Hi !!!
I can only think of the Saint and the famous spear. Nothing I would use for a child.

BtN says it's a Polish name, but I'm Polish and I have never heard of a Longin. The fact it begins with "long" and the "een" ending seem very unpleasant to me.
