Message: "Oved vs Obed" - Behind the Name

It's for a side-character in a WIP of mine. I like the hard sound that the v adds to Oved, but Obed sounds nicer as a name. Which do you like better? Any other names with the same feeling as Oved?

I prefer Oved, or, better yet, Ovid.

Never heard of it Ovid, I like it as an alternative to Oved.

Ovid is a very famous Roman poet and author. It is pretty much impossible to make it through school without hearing him mentioned.

first time I've ever heard him mentioned. I guess my school district is "impossible". Ha! lol

I first learned about Ovid in my last year of college lol
But that was totally bc I skipped sophomore english in high school where the curriculum was ancient and medieval mythology and went right to junior english.
