Reminds me of an island on Charmed...Valkyries were the sole inhabitors of the island. Horrible name.

Well...
while Valkyrie (nn Val or Kyrie) is a GP (yes, I'm finally admitting to it, lol!), I agree with Chrisell that it's probably not the best choice. I did like Sabrina's suggestion of Valkyria, though; it's similar, but I don't get the immediate 'goddess seeking souls of fallen soldiers' association. :o)

my friend is portuguese, and her mom's name is valkyria, pronounced val-KEE-dee-ya. i think it's a pretty cool name, actually.
Could you please choose a different posting name?

...looks like it didn't post my response.
any suggestions? would it help if I combined my first/middle names, or would that still be confusing?

No, no, a thousand times no . . .
I don't care if it's in the database: Valkyrie is NOT A NAME! www.answers.com/valkyrie
Giving a child the name of a minor class of goddess whose job was to pick off chosen souls from battlefields while riding scavenging wolves . . . is not a good idea! At all!
