[Opinions] Re: WDYTO Richard?

I was thinking about the name Richard just last week or maybe the week before.
There were two Richard's I grew up knowing who were family friends who I viewed as uncles. One went by Killer because he was so klutzy he had injured himself and others before, I still see him every so often. The other mostly went by Richard but sometimes Rick or his last name Morgan, he unfortunately died a few years ago from cancer.
I like the name Richard with no nickname, it is only a little dated, I think it mostly sounds regal like Richard the Lionheart but it isn't too pretentious. I like Ric/ Rick and Ricky well enough. I have love/ hate feelings towards Dick and Richie, I don't like Dicky or Rich.
My husband has a grand-uncle named Richard who only goes by Dick and he unfortunately is a bit of a Dick - he stole money from his elderly mother when he was in charge of her finances. So I doubt we'll ever use the name Richard and if we did it would only be as a mn.
