[Opinions] Re: Begoña
in reply to a message by Felie
I was surprised to see a geographical meaning, and even more surprised when the Virgin Mary turns out to have it as an epithet - to me, a begonia is a garden flower, very cheerful and apparently easy to grow, but not the kind of flower name I'd expect to see on a human.

Hi !!!In Italy as well begonia is a genus of plants. But I read that has a different origin than Begoña. Infact Begonia was named after Michel Bégon. He was an Intendant in Saint-Domingue and a plant collector.
