I've never seen Taras (Тараc) before.
Its meaning is quite strange to me as Taranto is still an important town but not a pleasant place, despite its history (in my opinion). There is a very huge steelworks company so Taranto is very (very!) polluted.
But as a Russian name is interesting because it reminds us the Classic history.
